Recording

In my group I have chosen Grace Durant to be the vocalist and I will use my own recording I have done previously for the background music.  The song I have chosen is Ronan by Taylor Swift.

I have chosen a condenser microphone for the vocals because it's gives a professional sound when recording and it makes it a lot more clear when listening to the recording.

I will also be using electrical drums because it Is easier for the sound because it doesn't create any vibrations and it has more of a reliable sound


I will use a stand in my recording because it make it easier to sing when holding the mic, otherwise the lungs aren't stretched and it makes it harder to hold notes.


I will use an acoustic guitar in the recording to give more of a relatable sound. I would use an electric guitar but it doesn't fit with the lyrics and tune.

I will also need to connect an XLR to XLR from the mic into the wall so I can record properly

 I will need a quality sound proof room so that the notices don't bounce off the walls and create echo


I will use cubase to mix all the sounds an make them better for the finished product

And I will need a mixing desk this will connect the sound from the sound proof room to the studio

TIMETABLE.
session 1; we will record drums, on channel one, first in a steady pattern as a base line. however is may be hard to think of one so research may be needed. you should also make sure you dont hit the drums to hard as it may weaken your wrists half way through the song. you should also not hit the drums so hard as it may become louder then the guitar which is not needed. we also used an easy adjustable stand with a condenser microphone for the same reason as the guitar.The instruments we needed for this session were; headphones,music stand,microphone,stand,xlr-xlr cable,and a pop shield to prevent faulty sounds. we expected this to take about 25 minutes as it was a steady yet complicated beat therefor promised retakes due to mistakes. my file is saved in 'my computer/btec music/year 11/abbie
session 2; we will record the guitar, on channel two, second as it is easy to sing to. however, it is easy for this to go wrong as it may be hard to play without music so as a troubleshoot listening to music on a low so it doesn't allow you to miss any lines out of the song. you could also make sure the tuning is up to date to disallow any unwanted sounds. lastly you should keep chords in front of you whilst playing so you don't forgot chords at certain points. We needed one microphone for this in an easy adjustable stand so we could bend the stand towards the strings of the guitar. This made the sound more pronounced. The instruments we needed for this session were; headphones,music stand,microphone,stand,xlr-xlr cable,and a pop shield to prevent faulty sounds. we expected this session to take round about 20 minutes maximum with extra takes on mistakes. my file is saved in 'my computer/btec music/year 11/abbie
session 3; we will record grace,on channel three, singing alongside guitar and drums. you should always listen to the song so you're in time with the drums and guitar. you should keep the lyrics in front of you incase you forget them and you need to think about pre warm ups incase you mess up a note. we used a normal microphone stand for this with a screwed on condenser microphone.The instruments we needed for this session were; headphones,music stand,microphone,stand,xlr-xlr cable,and a pop shield to prevent faulty sounds. we expected this to take about 30 minutes as it was a hard song to perform.  my file is saved in 'my computer/btec music/year 11/abbie
session 4; we will record percussion, on channel four, alongside everything else. you need to do research as it maybe quite easy to play percussion but it may also be useful to find tips to make it sound better. you have to also think about standing at a distance to the microphone as its only background music and not actually part of the instruments. lastly you need to think about timing so wearing headphones may also be useful. we used a normal stand for this as we did not want the percussion to be loud. we did this by standing away from the condenser microphone.The instruments we needed for this session were; headphones,music stand,microphone,stand,xlr-xlr cable,and a pop shield to prevent faulty sounds. this took a maximum of 5 minutes as it was not needed for more then 2 minutes in the song. my file is saved in 'my computer/btec music/year 11/abbie

HEALTH AND SAFETY.

WIRES- 

• will need to be taped down to reduce a trip hazard within the studio.
• There will be studio technician in the room to monitor the taped cables and risk hazards and the communication between the artist and other people in the studio. they will do this by making sure all wires and cables are in working order and there is no faulty equipment 
• there will be another studio technician monitoring the sound coming from the artist and the music to the artist making sure it doesn't damage anyones ears and also making sure there is no amps or any other equipment near by that may interrupt sound.
• there will be signs in the studio to warn people that if they eat it could potentially damage equipment and the same with drinking.
• there will be somebody checking the equipment before every session to make sure it is not faulty and is in working order for the artist otherwise it could potentially damage the companies reputation and their future customers and more so, damage someones track or piece,
